Meal plans cover venues at SAii, the Hard Rock Hotel next door and The Marina, which gives families much more choice than a single island. The kids' club takes children up to 15, and two-bedroom rooms and villas suit larger families.
The verdict
Who it suits, and who it doesn’t.
SAii is part of CROSSROADS, a multi-island development with a marina, shops and live music, so it is busy and sociable rather than secluded. Entry Sky and Beach Rooms are 44 sqm with no pool; pool rooms and villas start at 94 sqm. The all-inclusive plans leave out the specialty Marina restaurants.
Couples looking for a quiet, private island feel. Baros Maldives, a small single-resort island also close to the airport, suits them better.
Getting there
Speedboats run regardless of daylight, so a Gulf flight landing in the evening still reaches SAii Lagoon Maldives the same night. Short speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. Send flight details at least 72 hours ahead.
