What to know before booking
Seaplanes fly only in daylight and are offered for flights landing before mid-afternoon, so a late arrival needs the domestic flight plus speedboat. Manta season at Hanifaru Bay runs from July to October. Residences are large private houses, so they suit groups better than couples.
Who it isn’t for
Travellers who want a seaplane at any hour or a very short transfer. Hilton Maldives Amingiri has a 24-hour speedboat from the airport.
